JOB DESCRIPTION

There is so much opportunity right here in our home town and beyond! Work with our head chef to cost dishes, develop your own menu items and track them across our menu! We are building a hospitality and leisure empire and we need great people to work with us to build something great!!

V-ATE is like no other diner experience! Order up the best in smokehouse delights, real ice cream shakes and unique specials as you take your seat in our automotive themed restaurant! We are looking for the right candidate to support our kitchen team. This job role will involve mornings, and weekends as well as shifts throughout the week. Shift patterns may vary from week to week.

Apprenticeship opportunites are available to the candidate in this role also.

Responsibilities to include:

- Directing the food preparation process and delegating tasks

- Cooking and preparing high quality dishes

- Assisting the Head Chef to create menu items, recipes and develop dishes

- Supervising all kitchen stations whilst motivating and working closely with other Chefs of all levels

- Being responsible for health and safety

- Being responsible for food hygiene pratices

- Ensuring food quality and excellent standards are maintained for all dishes created

- Assisting with determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering

-Ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guideline

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and self motivated. In this competitive climate we have no time for passengers so we are looking for someone who can jump in the mix with our existing team and learn fast.

Prior experience is required to take on this role although specific  training will be given. We are looking for a candidate with at least 2 years relevant experience so if you have some please make sure you tell us all about it.

We are looking for a candidate with excellent personal hygiene and who thinks that they can quickly grasp the requirements of cleaning and hygiene in a commercial kitchen.

Our company is a Peninsula Certified Business in Health and Safety as well as HR. Therefore we can offer support via EAP (Employee Assistance Plan) and ensure that our teams wellbeing is a priority.

Rate of pay will depend on age and experience, due to the limited responsibility we can place upon our younger team members within a kitchen environment.

THE MONEY BIT
The remuneration for this role is based on experience and age as both influence the level of responsibility.  This is why there is a pay range advertised.  It is up to you to make it clear to us, both in your interview and within your probationary period, why you deserve to be paid at the higher end of the range.

£24,000 - £28,000

45 hours per week
